The Ile au cerfs golf club course"

The Ile aux Cerfs golf course is an unforgettable experience for golf lovers. It extends over a total length of 6,476 metres and features 18 beautifully designed holes.

Each hole on the course offers spectacular views of the Indian Ocean and is surrounded by lush tropical landscapes, creating an enchanting setting for a memorable round of golf.

Hole handicaps vary, offering players a variety of challenges and strategies. Some of the shorter, more technical holes require precision and mastery of the short game, while other longer holes offer opportunities to show power and accuracy on the drive.

The entire course has a par of 72, with a balance of par 3s, par 4s and par 5s. The par 3 holes are designed to test accuracy and approach control, while the par 4 and par 5 holes offer opportunities to hit long shots and plan complex playing strategies.

In addition to its natural beauty and golfing challenge, the Ile aux Cerfs course features amenities such as strategically placed bunkers, water hazards and carefully maintained fairways to provide an optimal playing experience.

Here are the details hole by hole:

Details of the first 6 holes:

Hole 1 – Lava Rock – 389 metres Par 4

A good tee shot must cross a natural pond and a wall of volcanic rock. The second shot should aim for the left-hand side of the generous green, sloping towards the protective bunkers.

Hole 2 – Wee View – 329 metres Par 4

A birdie opportunity for most golfers – with a good tee shot required and an accurate second shot to a small, undulating green perched above fairway level.

Hole 3 – Wet and Volcanic – 166 metres Par 3

The prevailing wind at the golfers’ backs makes this hole a little shorter than it looks, another good opportunity for a birdie.

Hole 4 – Split Decision – 518 metres Par 5

A real birdie or eagle chance for most players. A good tee shot followed by an accurate second shot will take you close to the green on the fairway, which is split in two by a downhill slope from left to right. A short approach to the green remains.

Hole 5 – Tidal Pool – 357 metres Par 4

After a tee shot down the right-hand side of the fairway, the second shot here is the key to a good score as the green is protected by one of the prettiest tidal pools on Ile aux Cerfs.

Hole 6 – Beach – 601 metres Par 5

The long sixth hole is played along the entire length of the spectacular beach. The tee shot is to the right side of the fairway, which curves around the dogleg to the generous sloping green facing the lagoon.

Details of holes 7 to 12 :

Hole 7 – Mangrove – 395 metres Par 4

An accurate tee shot is required on this dogleg left to right hole to be ideally positioned for your approach shot. The tides slide in and out of the playing area on the second shot and near the green.

Hole 8 – Mangrove Walk – 130 metres Par 3

This little gem offers a short and exciting tee shot. The elevated green is perched high above a pretty tidal pool surrounded by mangroves and volcanic rocks.

Hole 9 – Welcome Home – 514 metres Par 5

This original dogleg right is played through a natural pool. After a good tee shot, you’ll have two options: play safely left to avoid the second pool, or hit a challenging and exciting second shot towards the largest receptive green on the golf course.

Hole 10 – Banyan – 374 metres Par 4

The start of the back nine requires a good tee shot to land safely on this right-to-left dogleg. You’ll be left with a true approach shot to the sloping green that attracts backspin.

Hole 11 – Around the bend – 565 metres Par 5

The long eleventh plays towards the sea with a view of the mainland mountains. Play a safe tee shot on this right-angled dogleg. Then you’ll be left with a comfortable second shot to a large fairway. You’ll play your third shot with confidence to a very large green, our signature hole!

Hole 12 – Cat and Mouse – 418 metres Par 4

With the dogleg left dropping down to the sandy beach, the view of Chat et Souris mountain on the second shot is truly memorable. But concentrate on the golf and leave with a birdie.

Details of holes 13 to 19 :

Hole 13 – Le Rocher – 172 metres Par 3

The tee is close to the beach and the wind will normally come from the right. The green is nestled between rocks to the left and right and just above a pond.

Hole 14 – Be on the right – 308 metres Par 4

The really brave player can try to reach the green of this par 4 from the tee. A smarter strategy might be to land at a flat spot on the fairway. You will be left with a 60 to 80 metre shot to a long narrow green, a good chance of birdie on this hole.

Hole 15 – La Crête – 167 metres Par 3
A narrow par 3 over a ridge with a prevailing wind from the left. Keep your tee shot low to this generous green, which widens at the back.

Hole 16 – Hit me if you can – 337 metres Par 4

The various tee shots are stretched along a ridge, dramatically changing the angle of play, from a jump over mangroves and tight dogleg to a straight tee shot. The large fairway will encourage big hitters to reach the green. You’ll be left with a short approach shot for birdie.

Hole 17 – Treetops – 346 metres Par 4

The difficult tee shot has to cross a bay of mangroves. With a good tee shot, you’ll be left with a short approach shot to a generous green offering a panoramic view of the Indian Ocean.

Hole 18 – Back to the boat – 355 metres Par 4

The mangroves must be crossed on the tee shot of this dogleg left. Then, a short approach shot to a spectacular and generous green should offer you one last birdie.
